I now realise how difficult it is going to be to get the temperatures
out of widnows and I do mean widnows. Supposedly for MAC's o/s it is
much easier, all you need to do is go to cpuinfo to get the cpu
temperature. The GPU may be more difficult. It would seem that for every
device there is a unique way of storing the temperature and for each a
unique method of obtaining it. There is a widnows API call that will get
the temperature from some cpus but it is not implemented for many
manufacturer's systems. I was planning on adding a third thermometer
for monitoring the temperature on your disc drive but have since found
out that there are 2,864 current known hard disc drives and hundreds of
methods of obtaining the temperature from them.
So far the only way of reliably doing what the other widgets do, that is
use speedfan as the source of the data. That is a complete cop-out but
it is the only, the ONLY way that the temperature information is going
to be extracted from the majority of systems.
